Tips for citing a book chapter

  • Cite the chapter author first, then “In:” followed by the book editors and book title.
  • End with the chapter page range, written “p 269–301” (no period after p in the 9th edition).
  • If the whole book is by the same author, cite the book and add “Chapter 8, Chapter title; p 141–169.”
